Ryan Jeffrey Lewis

Mr. Lewis has been teething for the last two months and yet, no teeth have come through!  I swear that one morning we will wake up and he will have a full set of teeth.

He started daycare last week.  He loves it!  His teachers are great.  It is fun to see his personality coming through, especially around other little guys.  He is very observant and likes to be where the action is.

With such a big change, sleeping has been interesting.  Lots of little naps, but this weekend we were blessed with a 4 1/2 nap on Saturday.  It was so nice and we had such a happy baby afterwards!

We have also started swimming “lessons”.  More like play in the water with mom or dad, but Ry guy loves it too!  He pretty much loves everything!

Ryan is almost 6 months old!  He is doing super well; having a blast; and wearing out his mom and dad.  He loves to drop things and watch them magically reappear with the help of mom and dad.  He loves petting Colten and Oscar.  Charlie is still leery of him!  He is chowing down on squash, avocados, sweet potatoes, peas, beans and bananas.

He’s rolling over like crazy and has become fond of sleeping on his belly.  He usually goes to sleep on his side and wakes up on his belly.  If he surprises himself while getting on his belly, he unfortunately wakes up mad and demands our attention to be repositioned.  He is sleeping through the night about 50% of the time (9:30pm to 7:30am).  The other 50% is when he accidentally rolls on his belly and is mad about it.  A quick roll to his back and a pacifier later, he is back to sleep.

He is scooting and turning 360 degrees on his belly.  He is on the verge of figuring out crawling!  His favorite weekend activity at the moment is going to the Farmers Market.  He loves people watching from his Baby Bjorn and flirting with all of the ladies that tell him he is so adorable!

Last weekend, he was one lucky kid and got his first taste of ice cream.  He loves it too!

Ryan has been up to a lot this past month.  He has:

• been to the farmers market
• been to the MN and Como zoos
• went on his 1st date with Lilah
• been to bed between 9:30p m and 10:30pm for the last week (mom and dad’s new favorite thing!!)
• sleeps in until 6:15am or so.  Eats and then goes back to bed until 10am
• rolled over a couple more times
• lifts his head and belly up, but also lifts he legs at the same…much like a seal
• becoming fiercely independent.  Takes his pacifier out and then gets mad it’s missing, pushes toys away and mad they won’t come back to him, if he is eating and something more exciting is going on, he must check it out before going back to eating.
• he is sleeping in his crib!  Right now, naps only, but will be making the big full time transition this weekend .
• and finally, Mommy has gone back to work.  It sucks!  Although, Ryan gets to hang out with Daddy at home.  They do all sorts of things together.  Run errands here and there, make it up to Chris and Robs every Monday and scoffs at Mommy’s to-do lists.

Ryan went to the library for the first time today.  They have Baby Story time for kiddos 0-24 months.  He loved it!  He really enjoys watching other kids and there were plenty of them.  He was all smiles for the whole time!  We sang, read and played and it’s all free!  We read to him every night and he falls asleep so peacefully so while we were there, we had to pick up some new to Ryan books.

Since someone’s Grandma keeps saying she hasn’t heard him laugh, here it is. Now you can’t say I never do anything for you
